In a change to the previously advertised concert, Valentine’s Day will see the return to Inverurie of the internationally acclaimed classical guitarist, Craig Ogden.
Tickets for the concert cost £15 for non-subscribers and are free for under 25s in full-time education, and for those on disability or low-income benefits. They are available from TicketSource, at Novello Gifts (29 West High Street, Inverurie) or at the door.
Described by BBC Music Magazine as “a worthy successor to Julian Bream”, Craig Ogden is one of the U.K.’s most recorded guitarists. He has appeared as concerto soloist with leading orchestras across Europe and in his native Australia, and he is much in demand as a chamber player and solo recitalist. He is Director of Guitar at the R.N.C.M. in Manchester, and Associate Artist at the Bridgewater Hall there.
Craig’s programme is:
Federico Moreno Torroba: Allegretto from Sonatina, and Madroños
Napoléon Coste: Le Départ
J. S. Bach: Prelude, Fugue, Allegro BVW998
Piazzolla: Inverno Porteño from Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas
