B!z’art from Belgium…
Brexit may or may not be just around the corner but international cooperation in the arts continues with Belgian piano duo “Duo B!z’art” (four hands, one piano) appearing in Inverurie Town Hall on Saturday October 26th at 8pm. They are a lively inventive virtuosic couple with a unique repertoire. Sometimes the piano under their four hands will play intimate salon-music, at other times it becomes symphonic imitating the orchestra. The duo regularly gives concert tours across Europe and toured in China in 2017. The programme for the evening has lively dancing tunes form Brahms and Grieg, and thoughtful delights by Barber, Faure, and MacDowell.
They will also play “Solemn and Strange Music” by Inverurie based composer John Hearne. John was the first Chairman of the Scottish Society of Composers. He has worked as a free-lance composer, singer, conductor and translator. In 2004 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Music (D.Mus.) from the University of Wales, the first time this degree was conferred in more than thirty years. This is an excellent chance to hear his music. Inverurie Music is hosting this concert as part of their concert programme and the Sound Festival. It will be in-the round in the Town Hall for an intimate experience and is priced keenly at £10.00 per ticket ( £1.00 for children and students) available on-line from Eventbrite, at the door, and from Up West Craft & Design, West High Street, Inverurie. Doors open at 7.30pm.
