Pure Brass…Sheer Magic

Inverurie Music presents the next of its popular eclectic series of classical music concerts at St Mary’s Episcopal Church, High St, Inverurie, AB51 3NW, on Saturday 22nd Feb at 8.00pm. This time a Scottish five-strong all brass ensemble, Pure Brass, will play a mix of unusual pieces for brass including Maxwell Geddes’ Dances of the Scottish Court, Barber’s Adagio for Strings, and the popular classic “Misty”. Music by Bach, Vivaldi and others will feature in what will be a tuneful and lively experience. Award-winning Pure Brass is a vibrant, young, well-established brass quintet who perform regularly to critical acclaim. Formed in 2006 at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland the group has quickly become a prominent force on the Scottish chamber music scene. Pure Brass is part of the Live Music Now! scheme and are past recipients of the June Emerson Launchpad prize. Tickets are priced at £10 (£1 for children/students) and are available at the door, or in advance on line from Eventbrite or from Novello Gifts 29 West High Street, Inverurie AB51 3SA. Places are still available from inveruriemusic.org or tel 07778383820 for brass players to join a brass workshop 1pm -3pm on the same date, given by Pure Brass.
