Inverurie Music Award Scheme 2023 – awards have now been made!

This year there were fifteen applications made to the Inverurie Music Award Scheme and, thanks to the generous donations received into the fund, all applicants received an award. The awards were made this year to help fund a number of things, e.g. the purchase of bagpipes, a viola, a flute, several guitars, and software and other accessories to assist with learning and performance.

Eilidh plans to buy a new guitar

From the comments received from some of the young musicians and their teachers, they are very grateful for the help given.

‘I am very ecstatic to hear I won an award! Thank you very much.’

Wow! This is amazing thank you so much!

The awards made this year came to a total of approximately £1,500 and we are extremely grateful to all those who have donated or helped with fundraising in other ways to enable Inverurie Music to continue to run the award scheme for the benefit of young musicians in the area.

The Inverurie Music Award Scheme began in 2019 and has run each year since then. A total of approximately £8,000 has been awarded to local young musicians since the scheme began. The award scheme aims to provide financial support to young musicians who attend Alford, Inverurie, Kemnay and Meldrum Academies.

The scheme runs each year between September and December, and we hope 2024 will be another successful year
